DS557: Canada — Additional Duties on Certain Products from the United States

The Latest News:

On October 18, 2018, the United States has requested the establishment of a Panel.

The Dispute:

On July 16, 2018, the United States requested consultations with Canada concerning the imposition by Canada of increased duties with respect to certain products originating in the United States.

The United States claimed that the measures appear to be inconsistent with:

  • Articles I:1, II:1(a), and II:1(b) of the GATT 1994.
